Plans are afoot for SET Recruitment Consultants to broaden the activities of the Johannesburg and Cape Town based recruitment company into contracting of CFOs and CEOs. In an “ever changing market” SET is continuously looking for new approaches, including partnering in various projects with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), said Carl Endenburg, Director and Owner of the company.
Endenburg on Wednesday met with Alex van Groningen and Melle Eijckelhoff, founders of CFO South Africa, the leading networking platform for financial professionals in South Africa. Van Groningen and Eijckelhoff are currently expanding the South African branch of their international company through a series of meetings, interviews and events. As a crucial player in the South African CFO sphere, SET was an important port of call for them. Established in 2003, the 28 people strong company is a specialist agency focused on placing Financial, Accounting and IT professionals.
"I think there is definitely a market for the products CFO SA offers," Endenburg said, acknowledging that networking is key for firms like his. He spoke eloquently about the role of CFOs, recruiters, black economic empowerment and the way forward for South African finance professionals.
