Natasha Bell and Chantelle Booysen, Cassel & Company: How to retain talent

post-title

"Retaining talent is one of the most important issues on the agenda of CFOs,” said Natasha Bell, General Manager at Cassel & Company. On Tuesday CFO South Africa met with Bell and Marketing Manager Chantelle Booysen of the Johannesburg-based recruitment agency, which focusses exclusively on financial and accounting vacancies. “We do things a little differently and focus a lot on emotional intelligence and the culture of a job candidate,” explained Bell.

According to Booysen there is the danger of "disconnect" between recruitment agencies and the firms they work for, because the agencies are seen to take away talent from these same businesses. "That is not how we see it and we like to help clients with their strategies to retain their staff." According to Bell, Cassel speaks the language of CFOs that focus on the bottom line. "Although we look at personality and culture, we don't believe in fluffy terminology. We are there to help the CFO find and retain good people."

Cassel & Company is a trading division of multinational Advtech Resourcing. Bell (second from left in photo) and Booysen (second from right) met with directors Melle Eijckelhoff (right) and Alex van Groningen (left) of CFO South Africa and had a fruitful chat about the challenges and opportunities in the job market for finance professionals. The full account of the conversation will appear on this website at a later stage.
