Johnny Dladla (pictured) has been appointed acting group chief executive of Eskom, with immediate effect. This after Public Enterprises minister Lynne Brown ordered Eskom to rescind Brian Molefe’s reappointment as the power utility’s chief executive late last month.

Zethembe Khoza, acting board chairman, said:

"Dladla has sufficient skills to excel in this role. He has 22 years of experience within the Eskom, 17 years invested in various non-regulated businesses and five years as chief executive officer for Eskom Enterprises and its subsidiaries."

Dladla's CV is peppered with posts at several international companies, including BHP Billiton and South African Breweries (SAB). A Chartered Marketer, he has studied across a range of fields and institutions, including finance and accounting at Harvard Business School, Fort Hare University, Cranfield University (UK), AAA School of Advertising, and IMM.
