Engen, Africa's largest energy multinational, operating in 18 countries in sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, has announced it will be opening a further three service stations in Mozambique – two in Inhambane and one in Maputo. The company currently operates 16 services stations in the country.
According to Mike Cook, Retail Services Manager in the company's International Business Division, construction at the Maputo site will start in Q1 of next year, while the two Inhambane sites are anticipated to be complete by the end of this year.
Drikus Kotze, General Manager of the company's International Business Division, hinted at the possibility of a further four new sites in the pipeline, as well as upgrades to existing service stations. Kotze called Mozambique a key market for Engen.
Earlier this month Engen announced the launch of Beira Terminal in Mozambique, which the company says will significantly increase its supply capacity to southern African countries.
