Stellenbosch-based FinTech Entersekt has scooped the Best Mobile Security Technology going in the Banker Africa Southern Africa Banking Awards for the second time.

The annual awards programme is open to all banks and financial institutions in the region and acknowledges outstanding performance and excellence in the financial services industry. The winners were selected by the registered Banker Africa readers, with almost 4 000 votes being cast in the six award categories.

"We are particularly pleased to have been recognised for the work we do in the FinTech space. As an innovator in push-based authentication and app security, it is important for our peers to acknowledge the evolution and relevance of our products and services," says Entersekt CEO Schalk Nolte (pictured).

"With the disruptive arrival of financial technology tools and platforms, banking is in the process of changing forever. It is particularly gratifying to know that the work we are doing in a very fast-paced environment is making a difference worthy of this award."

Entersekt's push-based authentication solutions and patented technologies transform mobile phones into a powerful weapon in the fight against account takeover fraud.

Other winners include FNB, Sasfin, Barclays Africa and BancABC.
