The airline is alleging that the CCO knowingly misrepresented figures to the board, and furthermore ignored specialist advice.

According to news reports, the decision to first place Bosc on special leave and now, to suspend him, follows a forensic investigation conducted by law firm ENSafrica into allegations that the CCO had doctored some important figures regarding one of the airline's routes.

The ENSafrica investigation confirmed that Bosc approved a business case to open a route between Johannesburg and Abu Dhabi. While figures showed it was profitable, it proved not to be.
