Venture capitalist, entrepreneur and public speaker extraordinaire Vusi Thembekwayo has earned plaudits (including from the likes of Nelson Mandela) and enthralled audiences all over the world with his lessons from the public speaking pulpit, which began when he was a teenager.

At the age of just 25, he ran a R400 million division in a R17 billion multi-national. Today he is one of the youngest directors of a listed company and is the CEO of a boutique investment and advisory firm that forces medium, large and listed businesses into much needed, often painful, always lucrative new directions. He also serves on several boards and is in great demand as a director.
Vusi has a long association with CFO South Africa and the CFO Awards in particular, serving as emcee in 2015 and 2016. This year, he will leave the mic duties to comedian Nik Rabinowitz and host a pre-dinner masterclass entitled The real state of the nation - conversations every CFO should be having to move South Africa and their business forward.
Confirmed panelists for the discussion include MMI Holdings CFO Mary Vilakazi and Clover's Elton Bosch (both of whom have been nominated for CFO Awards 2017), as well as Peter Walsh, Servest Group's finance chief.
