`Valuable insights and networking opportunities` at CFO Summit Series

post-title

The CFO Summit Series is an initiative from CFO South Africa to encourage networking and knowledge-sharing among finance professionals. Having only having been launched this year, with four instalments thus far, the series has taken off, with amazing feedback from guests.

The latest in the series took place in July at Summer Place in Sandton, an opulent venue that has quickly become a favourite with CFO SA and our partners, Deloitte, Standard Bank and Thomson Reuters.

It featured a masterclass entitled Rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty - agile finance leaders lead the way, featuring award-winning executives like Ramasela Ganda, CFO of Barloworld Equipment and formerly of the Ekurhuleni Municipality and Vodacom CFO Till Streichert. This was followed by roundtables on compliance and the merits of an IPO.

Guests responded positively to the impressive lineup of participants. One executive commented: "The summit brings together solid experienced people that can share their insights. This is a very good networking opportunity", while another was impressed with the range of useful information on offer: "Valuable insights that one can use in almost all leadership roles."

Another guest said that the event was valuable not just for CFOs and financial executives, but for the men and women at the helm of their organisations as well.

"I think given the fact that value add is a key focus, it is a requirement that the CFO today needs to be a business partner. Personally this is a struggle for me, as I feel not all business leaders (CEOs) actually understand what needs to take place in order for their CFOs to be more strategic. I wished my CEO was here to hear some of the practical insights which were offered by the panel."
