Donald says this is an exciting new chapter for him, amid the changing role of finance and accounting.
The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, the unified voice of the American Institute of CPAs and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (AICPA & CIMA), has announced the appointment of Dr Donald Moeletsi as the new director for Southern Africa.
“This is an exciting new chapter for me,” Donald says. “The role of finance and accounting professionals is changing at a rapid pace, it is our role to make sure our members and candidates have the knowledge, competencies, and skills to meet the demands of our rapidly changing and digitalised business world.”
In his new role, Donald will oversee the association’s Southern Africa strategy and drive the organisation’s growth in the region, with a specific focus on South Africa, Namibia and Lesotho.
He joins the association from Moonstone Business School of Excellence, where he served as the head of sales. He has also gained considerable experience in the insurance and banking sectors.
“We are very pleased to welcome Dr Moeletsi to the association. He is joining us at the ideal time as we continue to grow both locally and globally,” says AICPA & CIMA regional VP for Africa Tariro Mutizwa. “He brings a decade of business development and client service experience to the association. This includes a unique set of skills and perspectives to lead the southern Africa team, building on what we have already accomplished.”
