Edcon: Richard Vaughan

Richard Vaughan has been the Chief Financial Officer of Edcon since June 2016.

Richard Vaughan joined Edcon in 2012 as Deputy Chief Financial Officer and was appointed CFO in June 2016. Prior to joining Edcon, he had a career in investment banking, working for both Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank, advising on some of South Africa’s largest mergers and acquisitions transactions. Notably, Richard advised internet billionaire afronaut, Mark Shuttleworth, on the sale of his business to VeriSign. Richard also spent seven years in corporate finance at Gensec Bank. Since joining Edcon, Richard has been instrumental in the various debt financing and restructuring of the group’s lending facilities. He is a CA (SA).
