Howden revenue up to R691m on good order intake
SPECIALISED air and gas handling group Howden Africa managed to boost earnings per share 24.4% to 162.46c in the six months to June, its interim results, released on Friday, showed. Howden declared an interim dividend of 30c. Orders received of R708.1m for the first half of this year are 19.1% ahead of the corresponding period last year. "There has been good order intake experienced by the group, especially for mine ventilation, power generation and petrochemical service and spares work in South Africa," it said in a statement.

For the fifth consecutive year, Howden Africa has been announced as one of the top 100 companies on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) based on share performance.
Howden Africa achieved 12th place based on the past five years with 32.03% compound yearly growth. The compound yearly growth for the period of 1st October 2011- 30th September 2012 was 117.28% which placed Howden Africa 8th in the Top 20 Companies based on the past year. In addition to this, Howden Africa was announced as a "Royal" company for the third consecutive year. A "Royal" company is one which has been in the Top 20 companies over the previous three years.
