The university's Saïd Business School announced on Wednesday that it would launch an online FinTech short course designed to help prepare business executives for a future where more and more financial services functions are based around tech.
“The course has been designed to equip you with the ability to identify opportunities for disruption in the financial services sector, and enables you to both launch new FinTech ventures and harness new technology to build better financial services firms,” Oxford said.
Oxford has launched the programme in conjunction with educational technology firm GetSmarter, which was recently acquired by educational technology behemoth business 2U for $103 million.
The course will run for 10 weeks, costing £2 500, and will impart a broad range of skills related to FinTech to students. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
The course, which launches on 9 October, will be online-only initially, but there is scope for content to be integrated into traditional courses at the Saïd Business School in future. Over 60 different leaders in the FinTech space are included in the course in some capacity,
