South African Tourism appoints Talib Sadik as new CFO

CFO Talib Sadik and CSO Siya Mthethwa have both joined the South African Tourism leadership team.

South African Tourism has appointed Talib Sadik as its new CFO, who, according to the company, will provide strategic and oversight support to the CEO in ensuring effective and prudent financial management and adherence to regulatory standards.

Talib is a qualified CA with over 30 years of experience, including significant contributions in both the public and private sectors at organisations such as the SABC, De Beers, Basil Read, and Denel SOC.

Most recently, Talib was the interim CEO for Denel, where he was tasked with developing and implementing turnaround and growth strategies, before his contract ended in February 2021. Prior to this, he was the acting CFO at Adcorp Holdings.

Talib also held various FD, CFO and CEO roles at Denel from 2008 to 2012. He serves on various boards as a non-executive director.

The company has also appointed Siya Mthethwa as its chief strategy officer (CSO).
