Denel appoints William Hlakoane as its acting group CEO

William takes over as acting CEO after Talib Sadik’s contract comes to an end.

Denel has announced the appointment of William Hlakoane as its new acting group CEO with immediate effect. William will be taking over from Talib Sadik, whose contract has come to an end.

William, who is the current group COO of Denel, will act in the position for six months while the company continues its search for a permanent CEO.

“His [William’s] appointment allows for a seamless transition into the role. He has a wealth of experience in the manufacturing sector, backed by a solid career track record that adds value to Denel. He is an experienced executive in operations management with in-depth technical abilities, project management and business development,” the company said in a statement.

Denel chairman Monhla Hlahla thanked Talib for the “enormous value” he has added to the company over the years and said that she is looking forward to working with William on a successful transformation of the group.
