Atlas Mara's Arina McDonald nominated for CFO Awards 2017

Arina McDonald has been recognised for her work at Atlas Mara by being nominated for a CFO Award. The annual 'Oscars for South African CFOs', to be held on 11 May, recognises CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions and awards them for outstanding performance and leadership.

A qualified chartered accountant and graduate of the University of Pretoria, Dubai-based Arina has been the CFO at Atlas Mara since November 2014. She previously served as Standard Bank's group head of central finance and as the CFO of the bank' African franchise. Arina has also held senior positions at Goldman Sachs and PwC. She is known for her knowledge of tax compliance, risk management and strategic planning.

Founded in 2013, Atlas Mara is one of the leading financial institutions on the African continent, employing 1 600 people, operating in seven countries with $2,6 billion in assets.

Atlas Mara Chairman Arnold Ekpe said of Arina when she joined the firm:
