National Empowerment Fund (NEF) CFO Innocentia Pule has been nominated for the 2017 CFO Awards. The annual 'Oscars for South African CFOs', to be held on 11 May, recognise CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions, and awards them for outstanding performance and leadership.
Chartered accountant Innocentia (pictured, flanked by Deon Viljoen (Alexander Forbes) and Carel Smit (KPMG) has studied at GIBS and INSEAD and completed her trainee articles with EY, mainly focusing on financial services external audits. She worked with EY, including a stint in London, before joining Nedbank as Corporate Cluster executive and then as a head of finance for Nedbank Corporate Banking. She joined the NEF in September 2012 as CFO, responsible for finance, IT, supply chain management as well as strategic planning and performance measurement of the organisation.

The NEF is a driver and thought leader in promoting and facilitating black economic participation by providing financial and non-financial support to black empowered businesses, and promoting a culture of savings and investment among black people. It provides business loans from R250 000 to R75 million across all industry sectors, for start-ups, expansion and equity acquisition purposes.
