The CFO Awards are not just about celebrating the achievements of finance leaders and having an enjoyable night out, but it is also an opportunity for learning and networking.
Before the gala dinner and the much-anticipated awards ceremony, globally renowned public speaker, venture capitalist and entrepreneur Vusi Thembekwayo will host a masterclass entitled The real state of the nation - conversations every CFO should be having to move South Africa and their business forward.
The annual 'Oscars for South African CFOs', to be held on 11 May, recognise CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions, and awards them for outstanding performance and leadership.

Vusi was the emcee of last year's event and in 2015, but will hand the mic duties over to stand-up comedian Nik Rabinowitz in 2017. Nik is an accomplished actor, author and stage titan who has had audiences in hysterics all over the world.
Confirmed panelists for the discussion include MMI Holdings CFO Mary Vilakazi and Clover's Elton Bosch (both of whom have been nominated for CFO Awards 2017), as well as Peter Walsh, Servest Group's finance chief. All three have a keen appreciation of the role they play in achieving the wider objective of advancing the country as a whole.
