Truworths appoints Emanuel Cristaudo as CFO

Emanuel has previously worked for Truworths in various directorship roles for over 16 years.

Truworths International Group has announced the appointment of Emanuel Cristaudo as its new CFO with effect from 1 July. He will be taking over from Hermanus Smit, who has been serving as the interim CFO following David Pfaff’s resignation in December 2020.

Emanuel was appointed as an independent non-executive director for the company in January. He will step down from this role when taking up the new role.

He has had extensive involvement at executive and director levels at Truworths’ main operating subsidiary in its Africa segment, where he was employed for over 16 years until 2013. During this period he had direct responsibility for the credit risk, credit operations and market functions, as well as information systems within Truworths. He also served as the Truworths director of customer relations management and information systems.

Subsequent to 2013, Emanuel was the group CEO at Direct Axis, a division of First National Bank, as well as a director on numerous partner boards. More recently, he was the head of JustMoney and the marketing executive at Intelligent Debt Management Group. He also serves on the board of the Sanlam Personal Loans business.

According to a statement by Truworths, Emanuel brings leadership to an experienced, qualified and well-resourced financial reporting team, as well as a wealth of knowledge and experience in general management to the company’s board.
