The CFO Case Study Competition has been a mainstay of the event since the inaugural Finance Indaba.
For the third year running, Charterquest will present its annual CFO Case Study Comeptition at the Finance Indaba.
Valentine Nti, the dynamic leader behind the success of the competition, told CFO South Africa that the CFO Case Study Competition depends on Finance Indaba Africa as a great platform to connect ambitious young students to Africa’s world of finance.
“Whilst showcasing, we use it to reach out to CFOs and the larger finance community, to provide them with a platform they might need to impact the education system. Some are already doing so by serving on the international panel of judges, helping with designing the business case studies we use, joining to witness the competition as audience and securing sponsorships. We need more to get involved.”
The CFO Case Study was conceived in 2014 through a collaborative effort with a team of students who won the national Barclays-sponsored CIMA Global Business Challenge and successfully represented South Africa at the global finals in Poland.
Upon their return, they received great support from CFO South Africa, ACCA and WSP | Parsons Brinkerhoff. With a team of Valentine’s lecturers and youthful managers, in October 2016, they pulled off the finals of Africa’s first annual global case study competition at the Finance Indaba. They are returning this October 2019 with an even bigger spectacular.
