Hulisani CFO Masibulele Dem appointed as interim CEO

Masibulele Dem will serve in the role of interim CEO until 19 May, stepping in for exiting Marubini Raphulu.

Hulisani has appointed its CFO, Masibulele Dem, as its interim CEO until 19 May 2021, while it searches for a permanent CFO.

Masibulele, who was nominated for his role as Hulisani’s CFO at the 2019 CFO Awards, will be stepping in for Marubini Raphulu, who resigned on 15 April 2021.

Masibulele was appointed CFO of Hulisani in July 2017. He has 15 years with various companies that include KPMG, Barclays, Standard Bank, Mazwe Financial Services and Africa Rising Capital. Masibulele has experience in controllership, investments and treasury, and strategy and planning.

Masibulele’s particular interest is in the energy sector of sub-Saharan Africa where the supply of energy remains such a challenge.

He is a qualified CA(SA) with a BCom (Hons) from UCT and the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
