Netflix rival comes to Africa

post-title

Discover Digital, MTN Group’s former video-on-demand provider, is launching a new online TV service in South Africa; one that will rival Neflix – which has become increasingly popular. The service will provide a mix of pay-per-view entertainment, on-demand subscription content, and a range of sports and news coverage.

According to Bloomberg, Discover Digital has also signed an agreement with Sun International, a South African leisure company, that will see hotel guests given access to the content for free. Meanwhile, Discover Digital has also said that there are options for lender Investec Bank to become an equity partner in the business.

While the sports packages will be charged at R99 a month, nand the ews channels for R49 a month, the on-demand video service can be had for just R79 a month.
