Nico Nieuwenhuis named head of finance Africa at Aggreko

Nico Nieuwenhuis began his new chapter as head of finance Africa in Aggreko in January, bringing with him more than three decades of cross-industry financial leadership experience spanning auditing, mining, petroleum, IT and consulting.

At Aggreko, Nico Nieuwenhuis steps into the head of finance role bringing extensive executive and public auditing experience.

Nico is a qualified CA(SA), registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (Saica). Over the course of his career, he has gained extensive strategic and operational experience.

He was previously financial director at Moyo. Nico’s earlier roles include CFO positions at Sasol Energy from 2012 to 2018 and SEPI in 2018, as well as VP of finance at Gold One International between 2010 and 2012.

Prior to that, he served as partner at KPMG South Africa from 2005 to 2010. He also occupied CFO positions within Sasol’s upstream oil and gas business and its global energy business, adding deep sectoral experience to his portfolio.

Across his career, Nico has led functions spanning finance, IT, HR, supply chain and GRC.
