Nonkululeko Dlamini appointed as new Transnet CFO

Nonkululeko joins Transnet from the IDC where she was CFO for five years.

Transnet has appointed Nonkululeko Dlamini as group CFO. She takes over from Mohammed Mahomedy, who was serving as the acting finance head for over four months.

According to a statement by Transnet, during July, Nonkululeko will still assist the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) with the transition and handover process. In her role as Transnet CFO, she will ensure financial prudence across the organisation, manage the company’s funding strategy and ensure the group’s financial sustainability. 

She resigned from her position as IDC CFO in July 2020 after having served with the company for five years. For her work at the IDC, Nonkululeko won the 2019 Public Sector CFO of the Year Award. She was also nominated for the 2018 CFO Awards.

Before her time at the IDC, qualified chartered accountant Nonkululeko spent 14 years at Eskom, where held various executive positions, including acting CFO. She has also served in various director roles at Kumba Iron Ore and Eskom.
