She starts on 1 August 2019 at the company that focuses on the equipment, logistics and automotive industry.
Experienced executive Nopasika Lila will be joining Barloworld Limited as group finance director on 1 August 2019. Nopasika is a well-respected finance leader and was nominated for the CFO Awards in 2017 for her work at the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund (EPPF). She later became CEO of the fund, but resigned earlier this year.
Nopasika is a chartered accountant with more than 20 years of experience in finance, corporate governance and pension industry. She has financial and business acumen gained from various roles across both the private and public sectors. She is a board member of enX Group, Nampak and Batseta – Council of Retirement Funds of South Africa and she is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of Invest Africa Private Equity Fund 2 L.P. She also plays piano and speaks German as well as Chinese Mandarin.
In an article she wrote for CFO.co.za, Nopasika reflected on her road to success and explained she has an inclusive leadership style:
"Business is about people and if you believe in them and they know you trust them, I can guarantee that you will be pleasantly surprised by their abilities, enthusiasm and commitment. Everyone is intelligent in their own unique way and understanding this has enabled me to listen with intent and build on the wisdom learned from others, harness relationships and thus making it easier to accomplish our set goals."
