Phumelela Gaming and Leisure CEO John Stuart resigns

John's resignation follows the company filing for voluntary business rescue due to Covid-19.

Phumelela Gaming and Leisure has announced the resignation of John Stuart as its CEO with immediate effect. 

John was appointed as CEO in September 2018. According to a statement, he has seen the company through financial difficulties which have been exacerbated by the impact of Covid-19 and lockdown on the horse racing industry. 

Phumelela also recently announced that it has filed for voluntary business rescue due to the deteriorating financial position. 

In March, Andrew Langham was appointed as the company’s interim CFO.
