Anton van Heerden is leaving his role at Sage Africa and Middle East, to be replaced by Pieter Bensch (pictured), who will be taking over as MD and executive VP of the region.

Sage said:

"Anton van Heerden has decided to leave Sage. We are very grateful for his efforts leading our Africa and Middle East business and wish him all the best for the future. Anton is going to spend some time with his family while considering next opportunities. Kavir Kissun, the leader of our finance organisation in the region, will take over as interim MD and we will welcome Pieter Bensch, who joins Sage from HP, as our new leader later in the year. We have a strong and experienced leadership team in the region, and as ever, we remain focused on serving our customers across Africa and the Middle East."

Bensch is currently executive VP and MD of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, which was formed in 2015 when Hewlett Packard split into two entities - HP Inc, focusing on computers and printers, and HP Enterprise, which manages servers and storage devices.

Prior to joining HP Enterprise in early 2015, Bensch held several positions at Oracle - a company he joined in 2005. These included VP of Oracle Europe, Middle East and Africa, VP of customer support for MEA, and VP and MD of Oracle SA.
