“Trustco is one of the most dynamic and progressive organisations I’ve ever come across and it has been a pleasure to work here,” says Ryan McDougall (pictured), outgoing financial director of Trustco. McDougall, a nominee of the CFO Awards 2016, recently announced that he will be leaving the Namibia-based Trustco at the end of December this year, and relocating back to South Africa.

  • Join us at the CFO Awards 2017.

"During my time at Trustco we've bought property companies, banks, mines, opened a radio station, been voted best company to work for… narrowly finished 2nd in the Top 100 companies and seen the share price grow almost 10 fold," Ryan continues. "During all this time I have grown so much as an accountant and a leader, but it is time for a change."

Looking ahead, Ryan says he firmly believes that the future rapid growth in the world will be driven by Africa:

"By providing financial services on the continent, companies can help to rapidly address the short-comings of the past. It's something close to my heart and I will be exploring opportunities along that line."

Marizanne van Niekerk CA (Namibia) will be taking over as Trustco Group Financial Director after Ryan's departure. Marizanne has a wealth of experience across various industries, including medical aid funds and property developments.
