SAA appoints CA Thomas Kgokolo as its interim CEO

Thomas will be responsible for transitioning the company from business rescue to re-entry into the market.

South African Airways (SAA) has appointed Thomas Kgokolo as its new interim CEO.

Thomas’s mandate is to oversee the airline’s smooth transition from the business rescue process to its re-entry to the market and bring fresh leadership to the airline.

Thomas is a CA and holds an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science. He is also a lecturer of corporate finance, financial, and management accounting for the MBA and PDBA programmes at the Gordon Institute of Business Science.

He has served on the boards of Mineworkers Provident Fund and the Air Traffic Navigation Services and Sizwe Medical Fund.

Before joining GIBS, Thomas had acquired experience in strategy, governance, and financial roles. He has served as the CFO of the Competition Commission of South Africa and more recently served as the CEO of the Air Traffic Navigation Services.
