SAA appoints Vuyani Jarana new CEO

post-title

South African Airways (SAA) has appointed Vuyani Jarana, Vodacom Business CEO, as its new CEO. Jarana has been with Vodacom since 2012 and will join the airline as soon as Vodacom releases him from his duties. Jurana is the airline’s first permanent CEO since November 2015.

Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba, congratulating the new CEO on his appointment, said that Jarana's experience at Vodacom was proof of the capabilities he had to help revive the ailing airline.

Gigaba said:

"Given that Jarana has turned around a loss-making subsidiary of the Vodacom Group, Vodacom Business Africa, into profitable and growth business, we believe he will be key in turning around SAA."
