South African Kim Cotter becomes first female CFO for Don Sebastiani & Sons

The Sonoma Valley winery has appointed Johannesburg-born Kim Cotter as its new CFO.

Sonoma Valley-based wine producer Don Sebastiani & Sons has appointed South African Kim Cotter as its new CFO, making her the first female CFO of the company since its founding in 2001.

In her new role, Kim will oversee all the strategic financial operations of the company, as well as play a role in shaping the long-term future of Don Sebastiani & Sons.

Born and raised in Johannesburg, Kim graduated with a bachelor of business science degree in finance and accounting from the University of Cape Town. She has over 20 years’ finance experience in the wine industry, including previous roles with Foley Family Wines, Ledson Winery & Vineyards, and Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates. Most recently, she served as a controller for Don Sebastiani & Sons since 2018, overseeing the company’s daily accounting operations.

“Kim has largely contributed to our recent successes and is an incredible asset to the company and our senior leadership team,” said Don Sebastiani & Sons CEO Omar Percich. “Her excellent analytical acumen, problem solving skills, decision-making abilities and collaborative leadership style will continue to shepherd Don Sebastiani & Sons towards new growth opportunities that dually support the financial health of the company and the longevity of the Sebastiani family legacy.”
