Times Media recently announced several key editorial appointments, including the appointment of Tim Cohen (pictured) as editor of Business Day, following the resignation of Songezo Zibi from this post.

Cohen has been a journalist and columnist for Business Day and Financial Mail, as well as a number of other publications, for more than 25 years. He is a former contributing editor, columnist, political correspondent and finance editor of Business Day, and a former winner of the Financial Journalist of the Year award.

According to Andy Gill, MD of Times Media, Cohen will oversee the "integration of Times Media's business news coverage into a single newsroom. He has also been tasked with ensuring transformation and succession for the next phase of leadership at Business Day, Financial Mail and Business Times."

Other executive appointments within the group include Sibusiso Ngalwa as editor of East London's Daily Dispatch, and Brett Horner as editor of Port Elizabeth's The Herald and Weekend Post. Financial Mail deputy editor Rob Rose takes over as editor of the weekly magazine, while Sikonathi Mantshantsha, the investment editor of the title, takes over as deputy.

Times Media is currently reenergising its products to position the group within the contemporary print landscape, with a firm focus on the digital future.
