Tim Jacobs appointed Altron acting Group CFO

MultiChoice Africa CEO Tim Jacobs has joined Altron as its acting Group CFO.

Tim Jacobs has left his position as CEO of MultiChoice Africa, instead taking up the mantle of acting Group CFO of JSE-listed Allied Electronics Corporation Limited (Altron). His appointment was effective 1 March 2018. Tim takes over the role from Alex Smith. 

In welcoming Jacobs, Mteto Nyati, Altron Group Chief Executive, said:

“Our search for a permanent Group CFO is underway and I wish to welcome Tim to the Altron Group in the interim. With over 20 years’ commercial experience, coupled with his experience in Africa, Tim will add value to our growth agenda.”

Tim, a qualified CA with a BCom degree in accounting, commercial law and business administration, and an H.Dip.Acc from Rhodes University, joins Altron from MultiChoice Africa Limited, part of the Naspers group. Before becoming CEO in 2014, he was the company CFO. His career has also seen him fill CFO positions at Nampak Limited and Transaction Capital Limited.
