UFC appoints new CFO

Mixed martial arts promotion the UFC has announced the appointment of former investment banker Andrew Schleimer as its new CFO.

The Cornell University graduate most recently oversaw finances and development and acquisition strategy at Digital Turbine, a publicly traded digital company founded and formerly chaired by Mandalay Entertainment head honcho Peter Guber. He was involved with crafting strategy for global theme park giant Six Parks.

Schleimer's predecessor Nakisa Bidarian is set to leave his post at the end of the year to build a new business for brothers Frank Fertitta III and Lorenzo Fertitta, who sold the UFC to the WME/IMG entertainment group in a mammoth $4 billion deal in July. The promotion is coming off the historic UFC 205 event at Madison Square Gardens in New York. The event took in over $17 million at the gate and set records for pay-per-views and attendance.

"We're excited to welcome Andrew to the family as we enter this new chapter of our history," remarked UFC President Dana White. "Andrew brings a strong finance and operations background to our team - experience that will prove invaluable as we take UFC to the next level."
