Elisa served as the chief financial officer of Kiara Health since January 2021, following a six month sabbatical after leaving Clinix Health Group, where she was CFO from 2016 until 2020
Elisa Mkhize is a qualified chartered accountant (SA) by profession. She completed her articles with PwC and also spent some time in the PWC London office. She completed an executive course “Mastering Strategy” with the Gordon Institute of Business Science.
She has over 15 years auditing, financial management & reporting experience across various industries including construction, mining, renewable energy and health, gained through her years working at PWC, at Wilson Bayly Holmes Ovcon, Foskor and Clinix Health Group. She also has a wealth of experience in implementing business turnaround strategies, and in capital raise transactions, both equity and debt.
She also spent some time as an independent consultant. During her consulting years, she worked on the biggest government-led bid in renewable energy with the Department of Energy, namely the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme, focusing on financial criteria evaluation of the bids submitted.
Elisa was the CFO of Clinix Health Group, a privately owned hospital group that owns and operates six private hospitals in South Africa. Her role covered looking after the finance, admin and the procurement functions. She also served as a director on the company’s board.
Elisa has been nominated for the 2020 CFO Awards.
