Ranen Thakurdin is a corporate finance, actuarial, and risk executive, currently serving as the group CFO designate and group chief risk officer of Old Mutual Limited. Effective 1 January 2027, Ranen will take the role of group CFO designate, formally succeeding Casper Troskie as the group chief financial officer on 1 April 2027 following a planned leadership transition.Since joining Old Mutual in 2018, he has held key leadership positions including chief accountant, general manager of Group Reporting and Insights, and head of capital and Balance Sheet Optimisation. Prior to his tenure at Old Mutual, Ranen spent more than a decade in financial, risk, and actuarial leadership roles at Liberty Life. He is a qualified executive, holding qualifications as a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA), a chartered financial analyst (CFA) Charter holder, and an MBA from the University of Cape Town, alongside a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification.
