Grathel Motau appointed as Thebe Investment Group's new group FD

Grathel will help to navigate the company through the Covid-19 impact as of 1 September.

Thebe Investment Corporation has appointed Grathel Motau as its new group financial director with effect from 1 September. 

Grathel has extensive experience in finance, having previously served as an audit partner at KPMG and the group CFO of Blue IQ Investments. She has also served as a director on the boards of Mmoni Advisory Services, the Road Accident Fund, York Timbers, Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors, Pinnacle Technology, TriAlpha Asset Management and the National Treasury. She started her career as a trainee accountant at KPMG after receiving a Master of Philosophy degree in development finance from the University of Stellenbosch.

About the appointment, Thebe’s group CEO Sizwe Mncwango said: 

“We are excited to have someone of Grather’s calibre join the Thebe leadership team. In her capacity as the group FD, she will play a very key and strategic role in assisting the company to achieve its long-term financial sustainability goals, ensure financial prudence and drive Thebe’s funding strategy 2025.
