University of Johannesburg CFO Nolwazi Mamorare has been nominated for the CFO Awards 2019.
Nolwazi Mamorare has been instrumental in turning UJ’s finance department into a sound environment after fraud scandals in 2017.
The CFO Awards 2019, known as the ‘Oscars for South African finance professionals’, gives CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions the opportunity to be recognised and rewarded for their exceptional performance and leadership.

Nolwazi has provided strategic leadership and direction for finances in the university, as well as ensuring that there is a proper operational management of the funds of the university within the principles of good governance.
Her vision when coming into the role was to lead a finance team that provides a service that is of a global standard and that focuses on the needs of stakeholders and also ensures financial stability and sustainability of the institution.
Her leadership in accomplishing what she envisioned is well deserving of a CFO Awards nomination.
