Preshanta Govender has been nominated for the 2026 CFO Awards for her role as chief finance and value management officer at Standard Bank South Africa.
Preshanta joins a cohort of finance leaders competing across nine award categories, including the headline CFO of the Year title.
Preshanta stepped into the chief finance and value management officer role at Standard Bank South Africa in 2023, following a stint as CFO of client solutions for the Africa regions.
She has also served as executive head of treasury and capital management, executive head of balance sheet management and senior manager of liquidity risk at the group. She began her career at Liberty Group and later moved to Absa, building a career that now spans 19 years in finance.
Preshanta holds a BCom from the University of Witwatersrand and a postgraduate in accounting from Unisa among other certifications.
Dubbed the “Oscars of Finance”, the CFO Awards continues to celebrate leaders who raise the bar for people leadership in South Africa across listed companies, large corporates and government institutions.
The 2026 nominees will be celebrated at a gala event on 19 November, where winners across multiple categories, including the CFO of the Year title, will be announced.
