Oceana Group appoints Hajra Karrim as new CFO

Hajra will be taking over from interim CFO Trevor GIles with effect from 1 November.

Oceana Group has announced the appointment of Hajra Karrim as CFO of the company with effect from 1 November.

Hajra will be taking over from Trevor Giles, who has been serving as interim CFO since February, and will be returning to his role as group executive of business development at the end of October.

Trevor stepped in as interim CFO following the resignation of Elton Bosch to pursue “other business interests” in January.

Hajra is a qualified CA(SA) and holds a B.Com honours degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She has held a number of executive positions, including CFO of TransUnion Africa Group and M-Net. Prior to that, she served as a financial consultant for two years. Hajra completed her articles with Deloitte.

In a statement, the group said that they were satisfied with Hajra’s expertise and experience, and that they look forward to her contribution.

The group also thanked Trevor for his professionalism and personal commitment, and wished him continued success.
