Ranen Thakurdin appointed as Old Mutual group CFO

Ranen Thakurdin has been appointed group CFO designate of Old Mutual and OMLACSA, succeeding Casper Troskie as group chief financial officer, subject to regulatory approval.

Ranen Thakurdin has been appointed group CFO designate of Old Mutual and OMLACSA, effective 1 January 2027.

He succeeds Casper Troskie as group CFO and will work alongside Casper during the transition before formally assuming the role.

Meanwhile, Casper is expected to retire at the end of April.

Ranen currently serves as group chief risk officer and is a member of the Old Mutual Group executive committee. He joined Old Mutual in 2018 and has held several senior leadership positions across the group’s finance and risk functions.

His previous roles include chief accountant, general manager of group reporting and insights, head of the office of the chief financial officer, and head of capital and balance sheet optimisation.

A qualified actuary and Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA), Ranen also holds CFA, MBA and FRM qualifications.
