Rob Aitken made permanent CFO at Tongaat Hulett

Tongaat Hulett has appointed acting CFO Rob Aitken permanently with effect from 1 March.

After Murray Munro took a medical leave of absence in August 2018, Rob Aitken stepped in as Tongaat Hulett’s acting chief financial officer. 

On Monday, the sugar producer announced that as of 1 March, Rob will be stepping in as permanent CFO. 

The announcement comes shortly after the appointment of Tongaat’s new chief executive John Gavin Hudson on 1 February.

In the release, John said: 

"He [Rob] is well qualified and has the necessary experience and understanding to fulfil this role effectively. This appointment brings additional strength and experience to the executive team at a time when the company focuses on the strategic review and direction of the business."

Rob is a qualified chartered accountant with 14 years’ experience, nine of which have been in the sugar industry.
