SAA appoints Fikile Mhlontlo as interim CFO

Fikile Mhlontlo will help the new interim CEO in transitioning the business so it's ready to re-enter the market.

South African Airways has announced the appointment of an interim CFO, Fikile Mhlontlo, not long after the airline announced the appointment of a new interim CEO, Thomas Kgokolo.

The appointments come as the embattled airline gets ready to transition from the business rescue process to its re-entry into the market.

Fikile has been serving as a non-executive board member and chair of the audit and risk committee at Lovelife South Africa since 2014. He recently served as the interim group CFO of Concur Construction and before that, served as an independent consultant. From 2008 to 2016, Fikile served as the FD at Denel, a role which he was nominated for at the 2015 CFO Awards. Before that, he served as a director and partner at EY.
