post-title

Sasfin CFO Lushen Pather has been nominated for the 2017 CFO Awards. The annual 'Oscars for South African CFOs', to be held on 11 May, recognise CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions, and awards them for outstanding performance and leadership.

Educated at the University of KZN and through Unisa, chartered accountant Lushen joined Sasfin and appointed to Exco in 2014. He is responsible for the group finance, capital management and regulatory functions for Sasfin Bank and Sasfin Holdings. He was formerly the head of group financial planning and budgeting at Standard Bank and the head of finance at Macquarie Group.

Sasfin Bank provides a comprehensive range of specialist financial products and services for business and wealth clients, focusing on the needs of entrepreneurs, corporates, institutions, and high-net-worth individuals.

Lushen said of his nomination:

"It is humbling to be nominated. I grew up in Shallcross, Durban, where my only interaction with a bank was at an ATM. I was never the smartest guy in school and didn't pass my CTA exams the first time around. I love my job and am enthusiastic about coming to work everyday. There are a lot of tough decisions to make. This nomination means a lot to me."
