CFO South Africa sponsored the Reporting Accountant category awards at the gala event.
CFO South Africa was a sponsor of the 19th annual DealMakers Awards, which were held on 19 February in Johannesburg.
The DealMakers Gala Awards are widely considered as the Oscars of the M&A community. They are intended to celebrate the year’s top deals and M&A professionals, including advisers and accountants who are usually the drivers of deals.
The consensus among M&A professionals was that 2018 was a tough year in which quality deals were few and far in between. Despite this, M&A professionals believe that the market remains dynamic and exciting but equally challenging.
CFO South Africa community manager, John Deane, handed out the awards for the Reporting Accountant category. These were the winners:

- Second place: EY
- Third place: Deloitte
- Fourth place: KPMG and Mazars
Reporting accountant by deal value:
- Winner: EY
