Takeda Pharmaceuticals CFO Debbie Ransby has this year been nominated for a CFO Award for her efforts at the multinational over the past year. The annual 'Oscars for South African CFOs', to be held on 11 May, recognise CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions, and awards them for outstanding performance and leadership.
Debbie was thrilled with her nomination and expressed her interest in networking opportunities provided by CFO South Africa:

Chartered accountant Debbie began her career at PwC, where numerous dealings with clients like Pharmacare, Aspen and Ingelheim led her to pursue an interest in healthcare. She assumed a managerial position with GlaxoSmithKline, rising to Senior Finance Manager in her seven years with the pharmaceutical company, before joining Takeda (then Nycomed) as Finance Director in 2008. She has been heavily involved in the firm's African expansion and restructuring in Egypt and Algeria, as well as internal control initiatives, HR, marketing and compliance.
With a corporate history of more than 235 years, Takeda conducts pharmaceutical research activities to fourth its mission of ensuring "better health for people worldwide through leading innovation in medicine".
