Thomson Reuters joins CFO Awards as sponsor

Multinational mass media and information firm Thomson Reuters is sponsoring the award for Finance Transformation at the CFO Awards 2017. In 2016, the accolade was scooped by ABI Finance Director Walter Leonhardt. The annual 'Oscars for South African CFOs', to be held on 11 May, recognises CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions, and awards them for outstanding performance and leadership.

We caught up with Thomson Reuters Africa MD Sneha Shah to ask her about the challenges that lie ahead in 2017, and Thomson Reuters' continuing partnership with CFO South Africa.

What challenges await South African CFOs in 2017?
"We foresee global volatility and continued unpredictability - economic challenges and growth opportunities in SA and key African markets. CFOs will have to contend with increased third party and supply chain risk and continued regulatory and governance focus. There will also be a concerted technology and automation push."
