FNB retained its Incumbent Bank title at the African FinTech Awards 2017
FNB was once again the winner of the Incumbent Banks category at the African FinTech Awards 2017, hosted at the Finance Indaba Africa at the Sandton Convention Centre in October, adding to the title it won last year One of South Africa's traditional Big Four banks, FNB has long been heralded for its commitment to digitalisation and innovation.
The FNB Banking App has won the title of Best Mobile System/Service Initiative in London at the international Banking Technology Awards 2016 and also won the title of Excellence in Mobile Banking at the Lafferty Global Awards in Cape Town, jointly with Sterling Bank of Nigeria.

In 2015, FNB became the first bank in Africa to offer an integrated telco service, FNB Connect, which offers an FNB-branded SIM. Last year, FNB upped the ante by becoming the first bank in Africa to launch its own branded smartphones. Recently, FNB Connect revealed that it had over 500 000 active SIMs and has sold over 75 000 FNB-branded ConeXis smartphones.
