After almost 20 years with ArcelorMittal South Africa, Gavin Griffiths has been appointed the company’s CFO.
ArcelorMittal South Africa has announced the appointment of Gavin Griffiths as its new CFO, starting 1 April 2024. He has been acting in the role since 17 July 2023, during which time he has been responsible for overseeing both the interim and year-end results. He is also currently the chief strategy officer of the company.
Gavin previously worked for the company for 14 years from 1998 to 2012 as a technical manager. He then left the company, serving in various senior financial and executive leadership roles (including as group executive of investments and optimisation at Aveng) before joining ArcelorMittal South Africa again in 2018.
He is a qualified chartered accountant with a BCom (Hons) from the University of Witwatersrand and a masters in commerce from the University of North West.
