Motus Corporation CFO Ockert Janse van Rensburg has been promoted to the group’s CEO, taking over from Osman Arbee, who is retiring.
Motus has announced the appointment of Ockert Janse van Rensburg as its new CEO with effect from 1 November 2024. Ockert, who has been the CFO of Motus Corporation since January 2015, will be taking over from Osman Arbee, who is retiring.
Ockert briefly served as the company’s acting CEO for six months until December 2018, while Osman was on medical leave. He has been an executive director of the board since 2017, an invitee to its various sub-committees, and is a member of various Motus subsidiary boards, including those based in the UK and Australia.
Prior to joining Motus, Ockert was the CFO at Foodcorp, and before that, he was a partner at PwC. He holds a BCompt honours degree, as well as a higher diploma in corporate law from the University of Witwatersrand. He is also a qualified CA(SA). Ockert also recently completed the global CEO programme facilitated by Wharton and IESE business schools.
Osman, who was appointed as CEO in March 2017, steps down at the end of October after 20 years with the group.
