Ashona Kooblall takes on CFO role at Natura & Co


Part of Ashona’s role will be shaping the future of the company’s Africa division.

Natura & Co has announced the appointment of Ashona Kooblall as chief financial officer (CFO) of its Africa division. With her wealth of experience in financial management and her proven track record of driving profitability and strategic growth, Ashona is set to play a key role in shaping the future of Natura & Co’s Africa division.

Based in Johannesburg, Ashona will oversee the financial strategies of the company’s award-winning global beauty brands, including Avon, which spans across various product categories. Her appointment is effective June 2024.

Ashona brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously served as CFO at IOCO, a constituent company of EOH, for four and a half years. During her tenure, she successfully managed local and international financial operations, bringing stability and growth to the company. Her responsibilities included overseeing finance departments, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, showcasing her multifaceted skill set.

Prior to her role at IOCO, Ashona had a significant stint at Nike, where she served as senior finance manager and later rose to become finance director for Nike Africa. During her six-year tenure, she managed subsidiary operations, led strategic financial planning, and ensured compliance with local and international financial regulations. Her leadership was instrumental in driving profitability and strategic growth in one of the world’s leading athletic brands.

Ashona’s career began at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a senior auditor, where she completed her SAICA articles and became a chartered accountant. She later held significant positions at Barloworld Limited and Tiger Brands, managing financial operations across multiple countries and subsidiaries.
